Take a day trip to Manhattan's Plaza Hotel for 'Eloise' activities
If your child – or you! – is an "Eloise" fan, you might want to make a day trip to Manhattan’s iconic Plaza Hotel a part of your summer plans: The Plaza, at Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, has a host of daytime Eloise-themed activities on the agenda through the end of August.
Eloise was immortalized in books by Kay Thompson in the 1950s. Eloise is a little girl who lives at the ultra-ritzy Plaza Hotel. An oil painting of Eloise hangs opposite the Plaza’s Palm Court, where Eloise would go for lunch and tea.
On Tuesdays, there’s storybook readings; on Wednesdays it’s a frozen yogurt and craft; and on Fridays, participants enjoy a fancy tea. Events on Thursdays rotate, and include charm school, dress up and dance, a magic show, cupcake baking and s’more making. Events range in price from $10 to $150 per person
