St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. To help you get into the holiday, we found a few family-friendly events this weekend:

Decorate your own Blarney stone, anytime between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday, at the Long Island Children's Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City. Free with museum admission of $12, $11 for seniors and free for younger than 1. 516-224-5800; licm.org.

Build a Leprechaun trap, using simple design and construction, anytime from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Maritime Explorium, 101 E. Broadway, Port Jefferson. Included in Explorium admission of $5 for everyone older than 1, 631-331-3277; maritimeexplorium.org.

Learn about Irish pirates and make the Jolly Roger flown by pirates who ruled the seven seas. Drop in anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday at The Whaling Museum & Education Center, 301 Main St. (Route 25A), Cold Spring Harbor.
