Santa Claus is ready to set up shop for the holiday season at Smith Haven Mall, and kids and parents are invited to welcome him on Saturday during “Santa Saturday.”

The mall will host a free 8:30 a.m. breakfast and seasonal craft activity during which kids will make reindeer food and create a holiday ornament to take home. Then they will be led in an activity from the preschool TV channel Sprout’s new series “The Chica Show.” To cap it off, Santa will lead a parade through the mall. Then, kids can visit with Santa in Center Court.

The celebration is geared to ages 3 to 8, and is an event of the Simon Kidgits Club. For more information about the club, visit simon.com/kidgits. Incidentally, “The Chica Show” premieres at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 on Sprout. Chica is a chicken who will take kids under the sea, into space and time-traveling back to caveman days. For more information on that show, visit sproutonline.com.
