Five days of matinees for kids in Huntington

"Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" is one of five

A holiday burst of movies dubbed "Cinema For Kids!" is taking place from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30 at the Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Avenue in Huntington, 631-423-7611. Movies screen each day at noon and are $4.50 per child, $11 per adult, and $7 for senior citizens ages 62 and older and students.

Here’s the schedule:

Dec. 26: “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas” is the Muppet musical tale of Emmet and his Ma, who compete in the Frog Town Hollow Talent Contest to try to raise money to buy each other Christmas presents. For ages 4 and older.

Dec. 27: “My Neighbor Totoro” is an animated movie from a Japanese director that tells the story of two girls who move to the country to be near their ailing mother. For ages 5 and older.

Dec. 28: “The Mariinsky Theatre’s The Nutcracker” tells the classic tale. For ages 10 and older.

Dec. 29: “Meet Me in St. Louis” stars Judy Garland in this classic. It’s a musical about the year before the 1904 World’s Fair. For all ages.

Dec. 30: “A Cat in Paris” is the story of a Parisian cat who must rescue the little girl he lives with after she falls into the clutches of a gangster.
