Consignment sale for kids' stuff this weekend on LI
Looking for baby gear and products on a budget? The Kids Kloset, which hosts seasonal consignment sales, is coming to Long Island this weekend.
The sale will be held at Mitchel Athletic Complex (1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd., Uniondale) on Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Hundreds of consignors will bring their clothes, toys, baby gear, equipment, sporting goods, books, DVDs, outdoor toys and more to sell -- about 40,000 gently-used kids' items. All the inventory is carefully screened and set up in a store-like setting. Parents can expect to save as much as 90 percent off retail prices.
Products that are designated as donations will be given to a host of local organizations helping Long Island families in need.
The event also features a "VIP Pre-Sale" pass for expecting and new parents (with a child up to 18 months old), military, teachers and police/fire personnel can sign up on thekidskloset.com to shop first at 5 p.m. on Friday.
The Kids Kloset consignment sales were crafted by Gail Roca, a Suffolk County mom who knew that Long Islanders would embrace saving, and earning money by reselling their kids' outgrown items, as well as helping the environment.
