An unexpected LI spot for a special visit with Santa
While fun and festive in theory, taking the kids to see Santa can also be a bit of a chore. By the time you get them ready, lead them through a crowded mall and wait on the sure-to-be-lengthy line, you're probably too exhausted to take in the moment when they finally get to tell St. Nick exactly what they want for Christmas.
Luckily, we've discovered a hidden holiday gem that just might be the solution to this Santa struggle.
The Source Mall (504 Old Country Rd., Westbury) has closed the doors to many of its shops, making it the perfect place for a quiet visit with Santa.
With no long line and pressure to move along, children can spend a little extra time on Santa's lap. Kids will love having the chance to share all of their Christmas wishes, and parents will have tons of time to snap the perfect picture for this year's holiday card.
The extra time is also great for first-time Santa visitors, or kids who may be a little apprehensive.
The holiday set-up is open during mall hours (10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and also features a train ride and carousel (each $2).
