Sys is a great place to get active
Sys is a great sports place in Southampton. You have to pay each year to be a member, and it is well worth the money. It has a tennis court, outdoor soccer field and a skate park. For younger kids, there's a playground. Indoors, there are two basketball courts, a soccer field, running track, gymnastics room, workout room and a squash court.
The tennis court is in a heated bubble so you can play whenever you want. The inside is very big, and the ground is made of clay so you can slide and do what you have to do to get the ball over the net. I play tennis there.
The skate park is free for members. It is very clean and smooth to ride on. You can ride anything you want there. I skateboard a lot. The only bad thing for younger skateboarders is there are a lot of teenagers at the skate park, so sometimes it gets annoying.
The gymnastics room is very cool, too. It has two trampolines, a foam pit and a balance beam.
I have never been in the workout room. All I know is that it has a lot of machines that help you keep fit, and now it's free to members, so it seems good to me.
The track is about one-tenth of a mile, so if you run it 10 times, it's a mile. It is free to members, too. Sys even has an After School Kidz Club Program and camps in the summer. Every town should have a place like this. You can find out more at sysinc.org
