Having a good time at Busto's Martial Arts
If you're looking for something fun to do this spring and summer, try karate.
Busto's Martial Arts in Holbrook is where I take karate. It's 45 minutes of fun. I started with a one-week free trial. Now, I also take tricking. Tricking is gymnastics and karate, cartwheels, tornado kicks, pop kicks and all different types of stuff. It's a lot of fun.
I also help with the little kids' classes on Mondays. Busto's also has adult classes and boot camp for adults. It's super fun there.
When you're signed up, you can take classes up to 5 times a week.
Our sensei is Matt Federico. Sensei means teacher. He teaches classes for all different age groups. There are classes for kids as young as 3, and it goes all the way up to adults.
Sensei Matt is an excellent instructor. He has been training 20 years and has a black belt; he told me he started doing karate when he was 8. He was inspired by his older brother. After watching his brother, he decided to give it a try.
He added, "When I was a little kid, it was the Ninja Turtles. Then, at a karate tournament, I met Ernie Reyes Jr., who played the pizza delivery boy, Keno, in the Ninja Turtles movie and got his autograph. Then, when I got older, he became my instructor, because I realized how talented he was."
I recommend you try it out. Busto's Martial Arts is at 310 Main St. in Holbrook. Check it out online at bustosmartialarts.com
