Signs on street posts read "Welcome to Downtown Glen Cove, The Heart of the Gold Coast." A walk through downtown's main strips along Glen and School streets reveals an eclectic mix of retailers, ranging from boutique and mom-and-pop shops that have been mainstays in this North Shore community, to upscale stores that have arrived in recent years in anticipation of ongoing plans to revitalize the once-polluted waterfront.
Parking: Free parking is available downtown at two large municipal parking garages (on Brewster Street and behind City Hall) and on the street.
