It's horse season in the Hamptons. A bigger-than-ever polo season ended Saturday. The ten-day Hampton Classic began the next day. On Monday, out trotted Secretariat great grandson Royal Prince to welcome guests to a private screening of Disney's "Secretariat," starring Diane Lane and John Malkovich, at Goose Creek in East Hampton. Polo stars Nacho Figuera (with wife Delfina Blacquier) and Nick Roldan, Candice Bergen, Dick Cavett and NBC’s Jeff Zucker were among those who sauntered by the horse into a cushy private screening room.

Prince Harry Governor's Island game in June kicked up the Hamptons' polo frenzy in July. "In my 12 years here, I’ve never seen so many people and so many cars,” said Figueras of the polo crowds this year. “Everyone watching? Maybe no. But the interest … has increased in the last few years very much. … In terms of knowledge of what’s really happening in the polo field … obviously Europe is ahead.”

Is he competitive with heir apparent, 27-year-old Nic Roldan, the American polo star with model good looks? “I’m more than happy to have a wingman. It’s a very good rivalry in the good sense of the word," said Figueras, who likes having "more than one out there promoting the sport."

Roldan has been keeping late hours at Dune, RDV and Georgica this summer. “He’s young and single," said the 33-year-old Figueras. " I’m a little bit older, married with three kids. So, we have dinner, do some stuff together, but we are at different stages of our lives.”

Rolden says he broke up with his girlfriend of two years, Nicole Davis, in May because he “got maybe a little afraid of commitment.” The whiplash? This summer, not only didn’t he want to “date” anyone, he says he wouldn't even commit to a second night. A little torch carrying for Davis? “She’s really an amazing woman,” Rolden said of his ex. “She’s out here as well, so it was a little tough. …. I didn’t really know what I wanted out of life in that aspect of it. And I wanted to focus on my career as much as possible. Who knows,” he cryptically concluded, “time will tell.”

In the meantime, he said, “I’m not out there looking for any serious relationship. I’m not dating. I’m out having fun. Girls be advised: Depending on what you are looking for, run to or stay clear!
