Jill Zarin and Beth Ostrosky-Stern are new friends in the Hamptons, Zarin told us as she signed copies of “Secrets of a Jewish Mother” at Authors Night on the grounds of the East Hampton Library.

“We’ve been hanging out,” Zarin said. Makes sense: If you read both of their advice books, you’d pretty much have it all covered.

Stern wrote “Oh My Dog: How to Choose, Train, Groom, Nurture, Feed, and Care for Your New Best Friend," a compilation of expert wisdom regarding man’s best friend. Zarin’s expert wisdom on relationships with humans came from her Long Island upbringing and co-authors, reality television’s ultimate Jewish Mother, Gloria Kamen, and Jill’s sensible sister, talk radio host Lisa Wexler.

“Beth read my book,” Zarin said. “She loves the secrets and loves the Yiddish. She needs it for her mother-in-law.” That would be Howard Stern’s mother.

This was one of many appearances Zarin and husband, Bobby (seen here), have made on behalf of “Secrets “ What do fans always say? “That Bobby and I look better in person,” Zarin laughed. “That they love the show and I got a bad rap this season ... that kind of stuff. Everyone’s always so nice. What else are they going to say? I hate your guts? No one’s going to come up to me and say something nasty. Are they?"
