NOTICE: The Planetarium will be CLOSED for renovations beginning August 1 and will reopen in the spring of 2012. These renovations will be a complete technological update, making the planetarium one of the finest in the nation.

The former home of William K. Vanderbilt II, a 24-room Spanish-Moroccan mansion and marine museum with exhibit areas containing marine science specimens, natural history dioramas, a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy, dinosaur replicas and other artifacts. Events include plays, concerts, theatrical brunches, telescope viewings, laser shows and year-round planetarium shows (Friday evenings, Sat. and Sun. daily). Living history mansion tours, weekends, May 29-Sept. 26

Sites available for private functions, including weddings and parties.

Hours: Museum: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tue., Fri.., Sat, Sun July-Labor Day. Check website or call for Fall and winter hours. Planetarium re-opening August 2012. Check website for hours.
