One could make the argument that this is really not a bar but a "live music club” as it's advertised  --  and it is certainly true that live music is the lifeblood of this funky venue. However, this medium-size space also hosts a bar that serves the younger, local crowd in winter as well as an all-ages seasonal crowd. Caution: That humble-looking guy in jeans and sneakers may be spending his summer away from his million-dollar Manhattan town house.

WHY GO HERE? One could make the argument that this is really not a bar but a "live music club” as it's advertised  --  and it is certainly true that live music is the lifeblood of this funky venue. However, this medium-size space also hosts a bar that serves the younger, local crowd in winter as well as an all-ages seasonal crowd. Caution: That humble-looking guy in jeans and sneakers may be spending his summer away from his million-dollar Manhattan town house.

LAYOUT: The inside bar runs along the west wall and faces an intimate space that holds small tables and leads to the stage. On the nights that feature livelier bands, however, these tables are often cleared out for dancing. Outside, there's a good-size deck with an additional bar.

THE CROWD: Locals are the standard during the winter, but in warmer months seasonal hipsters (and hippies) swell the ranks. It's not unusual to spot a celebrity or two jamming to the music.

BOOZE: Nothing unusual  --  beer, shots and cocktails. Though the drinks here are not exactly Hamptons-fancy, expect to pay an average of $7-$10.

FOOD: None, but outside food is welcome

TUNES: All year, there's at least one act scheduled each week, varying from blues, rock and folk, to reggae, occasional hip-hop artists as well as other alternative acts.

COST None, but tickets for performances can run $10-$80.
