The Puppy Love Hamptons Hoedown
When it comes to partying in the Hamptons, one of the major ways the South Fork scene tends to celebrate is through a summer series of gala benefits. During the warmer weather it’s not hard to find hundreds of Hamptonites attending these events, donating sizable amounts of money toward each of the causes given a night of spotlight attention.
However, come the winter, the fabulous fundraiser schedule tends to shrink significantly – but not completely – so if you are looking for an East End evening out that should be both fun and charitable without having to wait for the end of spring, consider the "Puppy Love Hamptons Hoedown,” an annual winter affair.
Returning for a third year, the ‘Hoedown' -- thrown by the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation -- will be taking place on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 230 Elm in Southampton. A four-hour bash (7-11 p.m.), it will include a gourmet meal and cocktails, plus line dancing with music provided by square-dance caller Chart Guthrie and his band. Prizes will be auctioned off and will include gift certificates (for restaurants Lobster Grille, Robert’s and Backbar; the animal shelter’s thrift shop, custom-made business cards), a limousine for three hours and a bicycle from Rotations in Southampton.
Tickets are on sale for $60; for further information or ticket purchase, check out southamptonanimalshelter.com.
