Looks like the people that make Montauk their regular good times destination will be getting another stop to frequent, as the recently-opened Harbor Raw Bar & Lounge is adding some dedicated nightlife to its calendar.

Located in the spot that formerly held the now-defunct Cross Eyed Clam, this small plates-focused restaurant opened in May and has already been offering some live music and DJ events -- but as of this week, it has transformed into a possible LI top-party contender with the hiring of new resident record selector DJ Stretch Armstrong.

Armstrong has already made mixing appearances at most of Montauk’s daytime parties throughout the summer of 2013 -- and has continued working the Hamptons hamlet’s hot spots this year as well – but now Stretch has a permanent home in this Harbor happening; a gig he'll share with Claire Doze of the DJ duo The Jane Doze.

For anyone unfamiliar with Armstrong’s work, his career dates back decades, as he has not only been a popular DJ on the NYC hip-hop and reggae circuit but also a noteworthy radio show host -- as he and his on-air partner Bobbito Garcia helped introduce a large amount of unsigned talent to the public during the 1990s over the airwaves -- and their ability to find truly gifted artists is evident as some of their picks have since moved on to become hip-hop royalty (such as The Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, The Fugees, DMX, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan and Big Pun, among others). An Armstrong session is usually built on a weaving of underground sounds, forgotten hits and other unexpected beats that come together to demonstrate his vast musical knowledge -- and those seeking to get an audio taste can take a trip to The Harbor on any summer Saturday, with no cover charge enforced or RSVP required.

However, the extended Fourth of July weekend will also feature additional evenings of notable performances, with electro-funk act The Golden Pony dropping a night of disco-dotted beats on Thursday, July 3, and Brooklyn indie-pop duos MDNR and Ghost Beach slated to appear on Friday, July 4. In addition, DJ Adam Lipson is scheduled for a late Sunday appearance -- with each night starting at 10 p.m., all for no entrance fee.
