Life on Long Island
The Emporium has an app
Consisting of thousands of square feet, a massive dance floor, several bars, a beer garden, a café and four bowling lanes, it’s safe to say The Emporium in Patchogue is one of the largest nightspots on Long Island. Thousands have been in attendance since the grand opening in the autumn of 2012, and it keeps all comers consistently entertained with an event calendar full of live shows, DJ nights, special parties and other happenings. Needless to say, with all that space and busy pace, it might be a trick for fans to track whatever the venue is doing at any given time – so to help all the many guests that frequent this gigantic hall (or for those people who just want the scoop on what’s new) – The Emporium has recently introduced an app for both iPhone and Android phones that allows users easy access to information and some interesting interactive possibilities.
Following the lead of the Nutty Irishman bars of Bay Shore and Farmingdale (the first Long Island nightspots to introduce an app), The Emporium’s app is easy to obtain: just go to your respective application download site, and type in “The Emporium” – it will come up quickly and is free. App users can find contact information, directions, a fan post wall, a link for sending your personal Emporium photos in for viewing and even a “loyalty” tap – which currently offers a free admission “un-lockable” coupon to users who check in a number of times.
However, hit the “More” touch-key, and another selection of abilities is made available, including an event calendar, details on catering services – and there’s even a tip calculator, which allows users to compute the amount a gratuity should be via such elements as the check total, number of people in your party and what percentage you’re looking to leave your server. (There are a few affinities on the app that are yet to be filled with content, but the download is still only about a week old.)
