Once the summer gets under way, the Hamptons becomes one of the most DJ-friendly places in the country. Successful mixers from NYC – and from around the world – come to the East End to spin. On June 22, a man whose talents have allowed him to expand past nightlife and become an international star will be working in the DJ booth at Neptune Beach Club: Paul Oakenfold.

Few DJs can match Oakenfold’s achievements, as he is also an accomplished producer -- remixing music for artists like Cher and Britney Spears, and working directly with acts like Ice Cube, Perry Farrell and Nelly Furtado. He has also created songs that have moved beyond the club world to find radio play, as well as usage in commercials and video games (“Southern Sun,” “Ready, Steady, Go,” “Starry Eyed Surprise”); he has even produced a major motion picture soundtrack (“Swordfish”). In fact, Oakenfold’s career has, in many ways, made him a singular sort of entity – which is evident in such turns as touring with the legendary rock band U2 and serving as the opening act for Madonna at some of her past shows.

There are many more highlights and happenings worthy of discussion when it comes to Oakenfold’s career, but perhaps the most beloved aspect of all is his legacy of coveted live sessions. Spinning his personal brand of trance and rich, complicated dance beats around the world, his parties tend to sell out and draw immense crowds – and being that Neptune’s is already known for bringing in hundreds of people (and possibly more) on weekends, the potential for attendance on Saturday is extremely high.

Tickets are available in advance at pauloakenfold.wantickets.com for $20, but may also be purchased at the door starting at noon (for possibly more). Age of admission is 21-and-over, but unlike most dance clubs, the dress code at Neptune’s leans toward skimpy beach wear (the club likes to say “some attire required”).
