While sometimes energetic events are essential to patronize -- in order to get ourselves invigorated -- other times visiting a gathering with verve can help with relaxing, aiding in the act of decompression.

If the latter would suit your needs, consider the Live Art Fusion party set for tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 16) at Perfecto Mundo in Commack. Starting at 8`, it’s to be a night of both music and art, with the two expressive forms paired for a purpose.

The tunes will be delivered by the Bob Gallo Band, a group that delivers upbeat jazz fusion driven by funk and smoldering guitar. Lively and classy, the sounds will be relaxed enough to serve as a background for sipping cocktails and holding conversation – yet at the same time vital enough to inspire the artists that will be on hand.

More than a dozen painters and visual designers will be working during the Gallo band’s sessions, using their brushes on canvas in response to the music. Guests will get to see works of art created live before their eyes, and if those in attendance find a piece worthy of purchase, prices will be available.
