Life on Long Island
A 1920’s-style New Year's Eve bash with modern beats
During the summer, talk of parties and things to do when out and about tend to lean heavily on happenings in the Hamptons, as the Island’s East End sees its most bountiful business between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Of course, that is common knowledge – but what many party people don't know so well is that, despite the departure of the seasonal Hamptons residents come September, there are plenty of get-togethers worth consideration held throughout the off-season -- and one is set for Sag Harbor on New Year’s Eve.
Starting at 10:30 p.m., The Cuddy – one of the harbor hamlet’s newer spots – is throwing its first-ever NYE bash, a “1920s” party on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and it’s only $10 to enter. (There is also a 2-hour open bar option, available from 11 p.m.-1 a.m. for $60).
Guests are asked to attend in themed attire (think “Great Gatsby” and Prohibition-era clothes), with all present receiving a champagne toast at midnight and a session of beats from NYC-based DJ NegK, who specializes in funky, soulful tech-house (soundcloud.com/negk).
