’80s KID By Beth Drucker, professor of fashion design at Nassau Community College and fashion teacher at the Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills

MATERIALS NEEDED
Old jeans, handkerchiefs or scarves, pastel-colored shirt, sneakers, hot glue gun

MAKE THE COSTUME
Take jeans, rip them apart and glue them together again a little raggedly. Alternatively, take one pair of acid-washed jeans and glue a handkerchief onto it. Take a pastel-colored shirt and cut the pocket out, replacing it with a handkerchief. Wear sneakers (preferably high-tops) and ’80s-inspired sunglasses.
